As reported by AS Mexico, Tigres is actively looking for a new manager, after long-time mainstay Ricardo "El Tuca" Ferretti announced his retirement from coaching at the end of the current Guardianes 2021 tournament. Multiple sources have hinted at former Mexico and Club America boss Miguel Herrera as "los felinos" first choice.

Herrera certainly has the pedigree and a proven track record in Mexican football, having led America to two titles in Liga MX, the first one in 2013 and the second one in 2018. Between the two, he coached Mexico's National Team in the 2014 World Cup.

He would be bolstered by Tigres' newest signing Florian Thauvin from Olympique Marseille, who joins prominent fellow frenchman Andre-Pierre Gignac, on a team that is sure to be one of the contenders for the coming Apertura title.
