MARSEILLE scouting RC Lens playmaker DOUCOURE
A key factor into RC Lens evolving into a Ligue 1 cornerstone this season, Malian international defensive midfielder Cheick Doucouré (21), bearing with himself a tradition of deep-lying and deep-end pitchers from Mali, and coming from such a heritage line upon that, has been targeted by Olympique de Marseille, according to latest French news. Supposedly fit for Premier League football as well, style-wise, Real Bamako alumni, not equipped with a dual EU citizenship to date, might be up for a move upwards, for joining a French scene giant, on an about 5.5 million euros transfer fee.
Doucouré first joined Sang et Or, starting from their B squad, in February 2018, and was upscaled to first team few months later, resulting in a key factor for the club to achieve top-tier status again. Bearing a surname quite common in Malian territories, he's not at all related to either Everton's Abdoulaye Doucouré or Borussia Monchengladbach Mamadou Doucouré.
