TOP STORIES - FIFA rankings: England overtakes France into 3rd place
In the FIFA standings released on Thursday, England surpassed cross-Channel rivals France to take third position.
Following two victories and a draw in recent 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Belgium and Brazil hold first and second place, respectively, while England makes their first appearance on the podium in nine years.
To finish fourth, France had to settle for two draws and a victory.
Italy, the European champion, and Argentina, the Copa America champion, are in fifth and sixth position, respectively.
